An exhibition of art by the late Hal Gomer. The exhibition will include over 50 works of drawings, paintings, and prints from throughout Gomer’s career. The show will run through August 7th until Friday October 2, 2015.

Thomas Hal Gomer has been painting for many years. In 2007 he won the Anne Arundel County (Maryland) Arts Council Award for lifetime achievement in the arts for painting, graphics and interior design.

Originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, Mr. Gomer holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Fine Arts from the University of Western Kentucky. He has also done extensive graduate work at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.

In 1975 the Association Culturelle pour La Connaissance des Arts selected Mr. Gomer’s work for inclusion in their exhibit “American Painters in Paris.” In that show Mr. Gomer won the award for painting. Subsequently his works have been shown and collected in North and South America and in Europe.

Major influences in Mr. Gomer’s work have been Andrew Wyeth and Charles Burchfield. Primarily today he paints northeastern landscapes in oils after having spent many years working in watercolors.

His last one-man show sold out the day it opened. Gomer’s artwork will be available for sale during the events.
