UPDATE 05:12pm 03/29/2011: From the Anne Arundel County Police Department:

On March 29, 2011, at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts located in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway in Pasadena for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 23-year-old male victim from Snow Hill, Maryland, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s) to the upper torso. Through further investigation, it was learned that the shooting actually took place several minutes earlier in the parking lot of the Marley Station Mall located in the 7900 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. Preliminary information indicates that an encounter took place between the victim and suspects that resulted in the victim being shot. At that juncture, the suspects fled southbound on Ritchie Highway in a vehicle described as possibly being a dark, gray Honda. The victim was driven by two adult male acquaintances to the aforementioned Dunkin’ Donuts, where they called police.

The victim was then transported via ambulance to Shock Trauma, where he is in stable condition. Initial information indicates that this is not believed to be a random act of violence. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at the Northern District at 410-222-6135 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 410-222-6135 end_of_the_skype_highlighting or Metro Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
