The emerging face of 21st century philanthropy

anne arundel giving togetherFour leading women philanthropists who are at the forefront of dramatic shifts in charitable giving trends will explore “The Emerging Face of 21st Century Philanthropy” Sunday, March 13 at 1:30 PM as Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) kicks off its 10th anniversary year with a Forum at St. John’s College.

New models of philanthropy that incorporate elements like online giving and information access, crowd-funding campaigns and social media are transforming philanthropy and making it accessible to all. These experts will examine the implications of this revolution, what it means for non-profits and givers alike, and what lies ahead.

AAWGT’s “The Emerging Face of 21st Century Philanthropy” panel will include:

  • Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz – Philanthropy Advisor, BBS Consultants, Baltimore, MD
  • Valaida Fullwood – Founding Member, New Generation of African American Philanthropists, Charlotte, NC
  • Jennifer Pryce – President and CEO, Calvert Foundation, Washington, DC
  • Lisa Hillman, Moderator – Senior Consultant, Due East Partners, LLC, Annapolis

“As AAWGT celebrates our 10th anniversary, we want to recognize not only women’s leading role in philanthropy, but highlight how the digital revolution and changing social models are radically impacting charitable giving,” said AAWGT 10th Anniversary Chair Karen Smith. “Today, so much more than when we started AAWGT just a decade ago, anyone can be a philanthropist!”

The event is open to the public. Advance registration is required, and there is a $15 registration fee. To register, go to www.givingtogether.org or for questions, email [email protected]. St. John’s College Francis Scott Key Auditorium is at 60 College Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401.
