Worker Who Posted Personal Info On Web Fired.  A Maryland Department of Human Resources employee has been fired for posting personal information, including Social Security numbers, of nearly 3,000 department clients on a website. The state’s social service agency announced Friday that the employee, who was not named, no longer works for the state. Department spokeswoman Nancy Lineman said the employee posted the information in April on a business website he created. Lineman said it is not clear why the employee posted the information, but there’s no indication that it was used for any purpose.

Amtrak Buying 130 New Passenger Rail Cars.  Amtrak said it is buying 130 new single-level rail cars, a contract that will create 575 jobs at a New York plant. The $298 million contract was awarded to CAF USA, which will perform manufacturing and final assembly work at its plant in Elmira, N.Y. The contract is part of a long-term fleet renewal plan. These cars will be used for long-distance train service. Amtrak President and CEO Joseph Boardman said the new cars will be similar to the Viewliner model and include sleeping cars, diners, baggage cars and baggage-dormitory cars.

Bicyclist Dies In MD; Heat May Be Factor.  A 20-year-old biking in Maryland has died after going into cardiac arrest and authorities suspect heat could be a factor.Prince George’s County Fire and Rescue officials said the man seemed to have gone unconscious while biking around 11:15 a.m. They said witnesses saw the man hit his head on a tree as he fell from his bike.Paramedics found the man in cardiac arrest and displaying possible signs of heat-related illness. They took him to Fort Washington Hospital Center but he died shortly after arriving.Paramedics said in a press release that high temperatures and humidity “more than likely” played a role in the death. Area temperatures were in the 90s when the incident occurred.

VA Woman Dies In Police Chase, Crash.  Police said a pursuit ended in the death of an innocent bystander.Officers said the incident started at 2:57 p.m. Sunday when dispatchers got a report about a man possibly selling drugs from a pickup near the intersection of Monroe Street and Penrose Avenue.Police said when officers arrived, they found Tyrone Hicks, 26, who attempted to run away in his Ford F-150 truck.
