Runners and walkers are needed for the first “Moving Around the World” 5K Run and Walk hosted by the Rotary Club of Annapolis and the Rotaract Club of Annapolis on Sunday, Oct. 25. The run/walk begins at Severn School in Severna Park with race packet pickup and registration from 7 to 8 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.

The course is mostly flat, leaving from the Severn School south on the B&A Trail and back, ending at the school. Due to insurance regulations, wheels, headsets, pets and babyjoggers are not allowed at this event.

Advance registration is $25, and $30 on the day of the event which will be held rain or shine. No refunds will be granted. Children 12 and under are free. Proceeds will be used for international projects supported by the Rotary and Rotaract Club of Annapolis including a water project in Ecuador and a community service program in the Philippines. These clubs volunteer services on international activities that expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the globe and  promote world understanding and peace.

The pre-registration form and information is available on the website. Make checks payable to the Rotary Club of Annapolis and send with completed registration form to Tara Dulaney at 40 West St., Second Floor, Annapolis, MD 21401.
