Anne Arundel County Library seeks trustees for board

Anne Arundel County Public LibraryOfficials from Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) today announced that the organization is seeking nominations to fill three vacancies on its Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of AACPL. It is comprised of volunteers who reside in our county with a range of experiences and backgrounds, and a strong desire to ensure the long-term vitality of our public libraries. There are no minimum qualifications required, except for a desire to serve the 555,000 residents of the county.

“Our Board of Trustees represents the interests of the communities we serve. They are vital to setting the course for the library’s bright future,” said AACPL CEO Hampton “Skip” Auld.

“I strongly encourage residents of northern and western Anne Arundel County who love their libraries to consider this post as we are seeking greater representation from those areas,” Auld added.

The Board of Trustees meets at Library headquarters in Annapolis on the third Thursday of each month at 4 p.m., except during July and August. In April and October, the meetings are held at branch locations. All meetings are open to the public. Elections for the board are held in June and terms begin in September.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the AACPL Board of Trustees or have a question about the board please contact Donna Denny at [email protected] or by phone at 410-222-7371.
