Capitol Steps

The Capitol Steps return! The Capitol Steps, an irreverent musical-theater troupe from Washington, D.C., will perform in a fundraiser at St. John’s College to benefit student financial aid. The show will include a lively review of songs and spoofs that ridicule public figures across all party lines. The performance, which will be followed by a champagne reception with the performers, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Saturday, March 2. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Show time is 8 p.m.

Tickets are $60 in advance, $65 at the door ($35 tax deductible). For best seats, order tickets early. Purchase tickets and reserve seats online: www.stjohnscollege.edu/events. To purchase by check, make checks payable to Caritas Society, St. John’s College, P.O. Box 2800, Annapolis, MD 21404-2800. For more information, or to make arrangements for handicapped parking: 410-972-4505; or caritassocietysjc@gmail.com.

Since they began in 1981, the Capitol Steps have recorded more than 30 albums, including their latest, “Take the Money and Run — for President.” The troupe has been featured on numerous television stations and can be heard twice a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their “Politics Takes a Holiday” radio specials. This hilarious political and musical performance is sponsored by the Caritas Society of St. John’s College.
