Police: Correctional Officer Killed Near School. Baltimore city police said a state correctional officer was shot to death and found about a block from an elementary school in east Baltimore.

Police: Man Found Stabbed In Car. Anne Arundel County police are investigating a stabbing reported Wednesday evening.Police said paramedics were called to an area between Interstate 95 and Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie at about 5:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.Paramedics said they found a 30-year-old man slumped in his car at that location.

Church Pastor: Vandalism A ‘Scare Tactic’. The pastor of a vandalized church said he believes his building was targeted by a local gang as a scare tactic because it is holding the funeral of a recent slaying victim.The vandalism was reported at the Overcomer’s Tabernacle Church in the 600 block of Beechfield Avenue in Baltimore.

Boy 13 Dies After Being Pulled From Potomac. Authorities in Maryland said a 13-year-old West Virginia boy has died two days after he was pulled unconscious from the Potomac River near Williamsport.The Washington County Sheriff’s Department said Dante Edward Burns of Martinsburg, W.Va., was pronounced dead early Thursday morning at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington.
