UPDATE FROM AACoFD:

Residents woke up to see fire outside their window on a lower portion of their home. Three adults and one child were able to exit the home with three dogs prior to the arrival of firefighters. Units arrived to find heavy fire from all sides of the home. A second alarm with Tanker Task Force was requested due to the amount of fire and due to the fact that there are no hydrants in the area. The fire was brought under control in 90 minutes from the exterior of the home. Units remain on location through the morning to assist members of the Fire & Explosives Investigation unit.

A reminder to everyone to “Close Before You Doze” or close the door to your bedroom before you fall asleep. Your door can help limit the smoke entering your bedroom during a fire and give you time to escape. For more information, visit: www.CloseYourDoor.org

A 2-Alarm fire broke out in a single family home on Bob White Court in Dunkirk just after midnight this morning.

Arriving crews found heavy fire showing; the fire quickly grew to a second alarm when the home became fully engulfed and the roof collapsed.  In addition, the blaze sparked a brush fire in the area.

Calvert, and Prince George’s County fire departments assisted Anne Arundel fighting the blaze. According to a witness at the scene, all occupants of the home were able to escape prior to the fire department arrival.  There has been no word of any injuries or a damage estimate.
