“Painting with Bravura” opens on April 12, with a reception to meet the featured artists from 1-4pm. The public is invited to participate in an artist conversation at 2:00pm about the technique of painting ‘with bravura.’

This style of painting was employed by historic artists John Singer Sargant, Sorolla, Anders Zorn and Velazquez. Their paintings reveal the beauty and power of each painting stroke. The secret behind bravura painting strokes is that while the stroke appears fresh and loose, even bold; it is placed in the painting with purpose and precision.

Participating show artists are oil painters Tim Bell, Hiu Lai Chong, Sherrill Cooper, Rita Curtis, Eric Forsberg, Patrick Meehan and watercolorists Bruce Handford and Erika Walsh.
