Cupcake Blvd Coming To Crofton

(c) 2012, Cupcake Blvd

Anne Arundel County residents are in for a treat as designer cupcake bakery Cupcake Blvd gets ready to open the doors on its first storefront December 15, just in time for National Cupcake Day.

Launched initially as a food truck concept by Crofton resident, Angelette Aviles, on Valentine’s Day of 2012, Cupcake Blvd’s popularity skyrocketed in its first year with the business being recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as one of Montgomery County’s top food trucks. The store will be located in the Vuong’s building at 1117 State Rt. 3 North in Gambrills.

While Aviles has enjoyed the success and popularity of being one of Maryland’s most sought-after mobile food purveyors, she is excited for the possibilities her Crofton store presents for Cupcake Blvd and the local community.

“Cupcake Blvd. is going to be more than a storefront, it is going to be a confectionary destination,” said Aviles. “We will retail our cupcakes, celebration cakes, French macaroons and other sweets, but will also open our party rooms for events. We can host a girl’s night out with our line of cocktail cupcakes, a variety of themed kids’ birthday parties and even friendly cupcake battle events that test the design skills of our guests.”

The bakery prides itself on using the finest, natural ingredients such as vanilla beans and freshly squeezed citrus & zest. All of Cupcake Blvd’s cupcakes are baked fresh daily with no added preservatives or transfat and custom designed, so no two are exactly alike. The shop will offer 13 or more rotating daily flavors including favorites such as Snickerdoodle, Dulce de Leche, and Nutella. Additionally, a seasonally roster of fun and surprising choices will delight customers throughout the year. Aviles is also planning to provide a free treat for the first 100 that attend Cupcake Blvd’s Grand Opening Celebration on December 15th.

Cupcake Blvd’s mobile fans across the DC area should have no fear that the cupcake truck won’t be hitting the streets.

“The Cupcake Blvd truck will continue to answer the call for cupcakes across Maryland, DC and Virginia,” Aviles said. “Our fans have made this store possible and we promise to keep delivering their favorite flavors wherever they have their cravings.”
