Take a Break with Byron: Plant Crafts with Mom

May 7, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Just in time for Mother’s Day, enjoy a Friday evening break with your friends and family to make some plant gifts. We’ll be creating live on Zoom and FaceBook Live. Here’s what you’ll need:
1 or two or even 3 Containers – get creative! Homestead has pots of every sort and even mini terrariums. Your container can be a Tonka truck, a pot, a piece of driftwood, or even a leather or rubber boot! You need a vessel with enough depth to hold soil and plants. If you want to make a birdcage like in this photo, these are available at Michaels, Joanne’s, and sometimes Home Goods. A lantern will work as well!
Plants – we will be working with succulents and sedum. Homestead Gardens has a tray of these plants on sale, 50% off, now $19.99 online and in our stores.
Soil for succulents
Pea Gravel if your vessel is deep
Craft paint (Martha Stewart makes some great products that work on containers. The best pots for this are terra cotta or plastic).
Rustoleum Glow in the Dark paint, available at Home Depot, Ace Hardware and other paint stores.

Please pre register for this class by clicking on the Zoom link.
