Parker Quartet Concert at St. John’s College

October 13, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Free

Returning to St. John’s College for the tenth consecutive year, the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet will perform a program of classical music by Mozart, Ligeti, and Bartók. The concert, which is free and open to public, will be held in the college’s Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, October 13 at 8 p.m. No tickets or reservations are required; seating is first come, first served.

Described by the New York Times as “something extraordinary,” the Parkers, as they are affectionately known by their fans, come to St. John’s College following a 2017 summer season that had the ensemble crossing North America for appearances at music festivals including the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, the Strings Music Festival in Colorado, and the Garth Newell Music Center in Virginia.

The October 13 program will include Mozart’s String Quartet No. 22 in B-flat major, K. 589, Ligeti’s String Quartet No. 1, and Bartók’s String Quartet No. 6.
