Early 19th c. letter writing workshop and lecture presented by Benjamin Bartgis. How did people learn to read and write in early America? Explore how men and women expressed and improved themselves in a growing new nation, and the letters they left behind. Afterwards, learn to compose, write, fold, and seal a proper formal letter using a quill pen, handmade paper, and other reproduction materials that capture the details of historic letter writing.
