Free and Confidential HIV Testing

June 29, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health encourages all county residents to obtain free testing for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Free HIV testing and counseling services will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appointments are not necessary and results will be given within 20 minutes. For questions about the event, call 410-222-4498.

One in seven people do not know they are infected. Medical treatments are available to help people living with HIV; but to receive treatment, individuals must first know if they have the virus. All adolescents and adults ages 15 to 65 years of age, younger adolescents and older adults at increased risk and all pregnant women should be screened. Making HIV testing routine will help the nation reach the goal of zero new infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths. To help county residents protect themselves against HIV and other STIs, the Department offers free Safe Sex Kits, which can be ordered at www.aahealth.org/safesexkit or by calling 410-222-7382.

Sponsored by Community of Hope and the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.
