Renowned Baltimore blues rockers The Kelly Bell Band, who were the backup band for rock icon Bo Diddley, are debuting “their most progressive album to date” on April 26 and will be hosting a record release party at WTMD Studios on the 26th in Towson to celebrate.
Encompassing a heavier, more rock-driven vibe with groove-infested melodies, Bell describes the sound as “Phat Blues.” Rave reviews have already been coming in for the album including Stereo Stickman who stated “The release sees the band whole-heartedly embrace the raw energy of the genre, the roots of blues rock and roll, as well as injecting a few unique hits of their own – all with superb performances and a genuinely uplifting, intense level of passion.”
The Kelly Bell Band has won two “Maryland Music Awards” including “Best Blues Band” and was nominated for the “Music Icon Award” last year. They have also been voted “Best Blues Band” in the Mid-Atlantic Region for the past 12 years.
