Sylvia EarleDr. Earle led the first all-female team to live underwater (for a week in 1970), set a record for walking the ocean floor at a depth of 1,250 feet and was Chief Scientist at NOAA at a time when there were few women in high federal government positions.

Mission Blue’s goal is to inspire action to explore and protect the ocean through an alliance that includes more than 200 respected ocean conservation groups and like-minded organizations. Dr. Earle will talk about “Hope Spots,” a global network of marine protected areas large enough to restore the ocean, the planet’s blue heart.

This talk is open the public. To sign up, click here.
