The Annapolis Police Department has released information on the shooting death which occurred yesterday afternoon on Obery Court.
On March 2, 2023, at approximately 5:15 pm, Annapolis Police officers responded to the 100 block of Obery Court for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived and located an African American male victim, later identified as Mr. Raphael Hilton Johnson Jr., suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back of his head.
The Annapolis Fire Department arrived at the scene, where they pronounced Mr. Johnson deceased.
Detectives are investigating this incident and have obtained video footage from the community, yet no suspect is in custody.

This is the City’s second homicide of 2023.
