15 Best Place to Work Remotely in Anne Arundel County

We all know that remote working is on the rise, and it’s becoming easier than ever to do work away from the office while staying connected. But just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you need to be, well, working from home. Sometimes a change in scenery can really give your productivity a boost.

From cafes to coffee shops, Anne Arundel County has no shortage of places to work for remote employees and digital nomads alike.

Our team at Liquified Creative takes a hybrid approach to remote working, and we believe there are a lot of opportunities there when it comes to experiencing all our community has to offer. That’s why, on our work-from-home days, we’ve explored a variety of remote work spots throughout the county. Check out our list of 15 of our favorite places below.

Rise Up Coffee
Rise Up Coffee is a local coffee shop known for its small-batch coffee and friendly staff. Because of their laid-back environment, this is the perfect place to grab a drink and get some work done. The best part… there are a few locations around Anne Arundel County (and even on the Eastern Shore)!

Bitty & Beau’s
Bitty & Beau’s strives to be different from any other coffee shop. This roastery is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee — it’s an experience. The shops are run by people with disabilities, and you can’t find this welcoming, charming, and stand-out vibe anywhere else. If you’re looking for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up, you’re sure to find it at Bitty & Beau’s!

Café Olé
Located at 33 1/2 West Street, between Stan and Joe’s Saloon and Rams Head Tavern, Cafe Ole is serving up delicious coffee, and food options from 6:30 am – 3:30 pm on weekdays. This welcoming local spot is a popular haunt for both regulars and visitors to grab a delicious coffee, soda, snack, and even lunch!

Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse
A quaint, dreamy coffee shop and bookstore located on Maryland Avenue, Old Fox offers an eclectic and imaginative space to hunker down and get some work done. This is an especially great spot for book lovers to browse and buy in-between projects. Open during standard workday hours, visitors can enjoy their full-service cafe, generous seating areas, and outdoor deck and garden space.

Bread and Butter Kitchen
Bread and Butter is one of our favorite spots here at Liquified. Just steps away from our office in Eastport, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee- hot or iced- and delicious breakfast or lunch! With indoor and outdoor seating options available until 3:00 pm on weekdays, you’re guaranteed to find a spot you love. Plus, you can’t beat that water view!

Anne Arundel County Public Library – Annapolis
With tons of locations around the county to choose from, AACPL has it all. We can’t say we’re not biased when it comes to the West Street location, though. Newly remodeled in 2020, the Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library offers an incredible brand-new 32,400 square foot building with exciting features such as a vending café, Makerspace, tech zone, and teen area, expanded children’s area and outdoor play space, six collaboration spaces, two meeting rooms, and more (including super reliable Wi-Fi).

Forward Brewing
Open at 4:00 pm most weekdays and noon on Fridays, our friends at Naptown Scoop showed us that Forward Brewing one of the best spots in town for an afternoon business meeting. This nano-brewery and restaurant will never fail to inspire conversation, as this gathering place offers a true Eastport experience. Whether enjoying their indoor or outdoor seating options, you’re guaranteed to find that neighborhood charm only Forward can offer.

Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks
With the ability to reserve a park pavilion, Anne Arundel Recreation and Parks offers great opportunities to switch up your work environment. This is a great way to get outside while having the perfect outdoor setup to complete your office work. If you have little ones to look after, this is another great option, as AAC Recreation and Parks have an entire Child Care Division to offer parents!

The Big Bean
The Big Bean is a great place to go if you are looking for more than just a plain coffee. With a wide variety of smoothies, you are sure to find something at this café to suit your craving. And The Big Bean even offers a variety of superfood lattes if a smoothie isn’t exactly what you’re wanting. Made with matcha, beetroot, ginger, coconut milk, cayenne pepper, and dandelion root, among other ingredients, The Big Bean is sure to have something to help boost your digestion, immunity, and work productivity!

Curate Annapolis
How about a delicious assortment of treats readily available to you while you’re working? Curate Café + Bakery is the perfect place to go if you’ve got a sweet tooth. With their in-house Pastry Chef Stephanie Squires and Coffee Curator Joel Bunker, you’ll have a coffee and pastry experience specific to Curate. Open Mondays – Sundays 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., this is a great spot to work for the day. And, if you enjoy your time here while you work, they even have a wine bar that opens at 5 p.m. on Fridays (and stays open until 9:30)!

Baltimore Coffee and Tea
Every morning, Baltimore Coffee and Tea brews six different types of coffee. So, if you’re unsure about what kind of coffee you want, this is the perfect place to go! This café is in the Annapolis Town Center but also offers locations in Odenton, Frederick, Timonium, and Hanover. Baltimore Coffee and Tea is sure to not disappoint, selling 120 kinds of coffee, an endless variety of tea, and serving breakfast and lunch!

Bean Rush Cafe
Open from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.; this is a great café if you’re looking to get an early start on some work. Bean Rush Café serves a variety of caffeinated drinks, as well as coffee alternatives. If you are not a huge coffee drinker, you can find options such as matcha, chai, turmeric, and ruby cocoa lattes (to name a few) for you to choose from at the café. There is also an extensive list of tea offered if you prefer. Plenty of seating, great food options, and a quiet atmosphere make this a great spot to hunker down and focus. There’s even a Crownsville location too!

The Red Bean
Located right on Main Street in Downtown Annapolis, The Red Bean is a unique and inviting space that offers both handcrafted coffee beverages and ice cream! A great meeting place with good food and good company, this café offers a variety of options from macchiatos and lattes to mochas and americanos. On top of their great selection of coffee, their drinks are all made in partnership with other local cafes. The Red Bean works with Open Seas Coffee Roasters, South Mountain Creamery, Naval Bagels, Bread and Butter Kitchen, and Hawthorne Fine Breakfast Pastry to deliver the best products. Not to mention, their ice cream is divine!

Starbucks – Downtown Annapolis
So, we know everyone knows Starbucks, but we’re obsessed with the beautiful interior of the Main Street location right in Downtown Annapolis. Plenty of seating, bright open space, comfortable and cool décor, and reliable Wi-Fi – what more can you ask for? Also, when you’re ready for a lunch break, simply walk out the door, and you’re within steps of some of the best restaurants in Annapolis and an unbeatable water view!

Second Alarm Brewhouse
An award-winning coffee shop in Pasadena that’s dedicated to the awareness and recruitment of the volunteer fire service, Second Alarm Brewhouse is a brick-and-mortar idea that’s the first of its kind. Coffee Shop by day and an exclusive one-of-a-kind pub by night. Focusing on Maryland breweries and wineries, they have something for everyone. They offer a large selection of quality coffee and a comfortable place to relax. Free high-speed WiFi and a rotation of delicious food trucks give you a unique remote working experience every time!
