Navy-Notre Dame to be Played at Met Life Stadium in 2024

| August 10, 2021, 01:26 PM

Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk and MetLife Stadium president and CEO Ron VanDeVeen announced last week that the 2024 Navy-Notre Dame game will be played on Oct. 26 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

“We return to MetLife with great enthusiasm and high expectations for a typical hard-fought traditional matchup,” said Gladchuk.  “The stadium’s thrilling environment, a sold-out venue, and the pageantry of college football at its best always make this experience one of the season’s finest.  It’s always a wonderful college football day when we visit New Jersey to play the Irish.  Many thanks to Ron VanDeVeen and his staff for this most appreciated invitation.”

“We are thrilled to host the Navy-Notre Dame football game and bring this storied rivalry back to New Jersey,” said VanDeVeen. “We look forward to welcoming these esteemed programs and their fans back to MetLife Stadium for another memorable game day.”

The 2024 game will mark the eighth time the Meadowlands Complex has hosted a Navy-Notre Dame game and the first since 2010 when Navy defeated the Irish 35-17.

The Navy-Notre Dame series was the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in college football, playing 93-consecutive years before COVID-19 canceled the 2020 game. The two schools will square off this year for the 94th playing of the game on Nov. 6 in South Bend.

MetLife Stadium will also play host to this year’s Army-Navy Game presented by USAA.
