Three children rescued as crews extinguish Annapolis townhome fire

On Thursday November 19, 2020 at approximately 1:30 pm, the Annapolis Fire Department was dispatched to the unit block of Juliana Circle West for a reported structure fire with entrapment.

Upon arrival firefighters were met with heavy smoke conditions and  received confirmation that three children were trapped. Rescue crews could hear screams coming from the home.

Firefighters immediately began rescue and suppression efforts, rescuing all 3 children who were transported to an area hospital for evaluation. The children were all male and aged 15, 5, and 5. At this time injuries are unknown.

It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to make rescues and extinguish the fire. Annapolis Fire Department received mutual aid assistance from Anne Arundel County and the Naval District Washington Fire Departments.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Annapolis Fire Investigations Bureau.
