Pittman consolidates all COVID resources into one single phone line

County Executive Steuart Pittman has announced an expanded warmline where Anne Arundel residents can connect to all COVID-related resources through a single phone call.  The Food Access Warmline, 410-222-FOOD (3663), was launched in June and will now provide counseling on an array of options to all callers, including but not limited to assistance with energy and water bills, mental health and grief counseling, child care, eviction and foreclosure prevention.

The Warmline will be staffed by seasoned call takers and case managers from multiple agencies around the county.  Callers impacted by COVID will receive information and resources in their primary languages or through Maryland Relay 7-1-1.

“The pandemic continues to deeply impact this community.  The expansion of the Warmline to include all available resources is intended to help stabilize the health and wellness of the community, especially during the holiday season,” said County Executive Pittman. “Our hard working and compassionate public servants are engaging the community in ways we could never have imagined a year ago.”

The Food Access and COVID Care Warmline will be staffed from 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  TTY users should call via Maryland Relay 7-1-1.  Bi-lingual staff and interpreting services are also available.

“We are very fortunate in Anne Arundel County to have leadership and agencies that have found creative and unique ways to use CARES Act funding to address real issues in our community,” said Pam Jordan, Deputy Chief Administrator for Health and Human Services. “I encourage all residents who have been impacted by COVID to reach out the Food Access and COVID Care Warmline to talk with staff about the safety net of programs that are available now, but are set to expire at the end of December.”

For more information on the program, contact Linda Dennis, Project Manager, at 410-222-FOOD (3663).
