Historic Annapolis virtual lecture: Eliza Hamilton: Patriot, Wife, Widow, Warrior

Historic Annapolis will be hosting a virtual lecture Eliza Hamilton: Patriot, Wife, Widow, Warrior given by New York Times bestselling author, and local resident, Laura Kamoie. The lecture will take place on Thursday, December 3, at 7 pm via Zoom. Cost is $15 for the general public and $10 for Members of Historic Annapolis. The lecture, based on the book My Dear Hamilton: A Novel of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, written by Laura Kamoie and Stephanie Dray, will recount the untold story of the entirety of the life of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, wife of Alexander Hamilton and a Founding Mother, who was a patriot in her own right and a little-known warrior in her husband’s quest to form a more perfect union. The New York Times bestselling author will also discuss her historical research which is the foundation of this exceptional novel.

About the Presenter:

Laura Kamoie has always been fascinated by the people, stories, and physical presence of the past, which led her to a lifetime of historical and archaeological study and training. She holds a doctoral degree in early American history from The College of William and Mary, published two non-fiction books on early America, and most recently held the position of Associate Professor of History at the U.S. Naval Academy before transitioning to a full-time career writing more than forty novels in multiple genres, including historical fiction, which allows her the exciting opportunity to combine her training in and love of history with her passion for storytelling. Laura lives in Annapolis with her husband, two daughters, and monster German shepherd, Schuyler.
