Annapolis sailor and author Dave Gendell will be at the Boatyard Bar and Grill on Sunday, November 8 from 3-4:30 p.m. to sell and sign copies of his new book “Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse: A Chesapeake Bay icon.” The Boatyard is located at 400 Fourth Street and will be open for food and drink during the event.
Dave will be set up at a table outside the Boatyard and will have books available for sale for $20 each (Cash, Check, Venmo accepted). If you have already purchased a book please bring it by and Dave will be happy to sign it for you. Covid protocols will be in place.
Lighthouse Manager John Potvin and Eastport-based fishing guide Tom Weaver plan to stop by as well—both are profiled in the book.
This is the first ever book about the historic Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse and Dave is donating a portion of his proceeds to lighthouse preservation efforts. A few weeks ago, Dave teamed up with Lighthouse Manager John Potvin to host Jimmy Buffett aboard the lighthouse. Jimmy spent a couple hours aboard the lighthouse, played a couple of songs, and left with a copy of Dave’s book.
We spoke with Dave about the book and his research, have a listen!
And, if you aren’t able to make the signing, you can purchase it on Amazon or directly from the publisher. And here’s a sneak peek!
