Blood Drive and Sweater Donation Drive this Saturday

The Anne Arundel Medical Center bloodmobile will be out this Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 900 Bestgate Road in Annapolis.  The Kristi Neidhardt Team of Northrop Realty, a Long & Foster Company is sponsoring this blood drive along with a collection event for the #JustOneSweater initiative.

Blood donation is by appointment only on Saturday from 9am to 2pm and you can reserve your slot right here.

And strict COVID safety protocols will be followed and you should be aware of the following:

  • NO more than 2 donors will be giving blood at a time.
  • All donors must sign-up in advance to donate.  Walk-ins will be taken when there are openings in the schedule.
  • Donors cannot sign up more than one person under one name.
  •  Only 2 donors can be signed up per 15 minute intervals.
  • There may be longer wait times due to social distancing.
  • All donors and all staff will be masked during entire process (the only exception is during the taking the temperature during the collection of vitals)
  • All donors will be prescreened outside the bus (do you have any cold symptoms, fever, contact with someone who has COVID, etc). If the answer is yes then the donor will be deferred.
  • Staff will decontaminate all areas of the bus throughout the day.
  • Donors will be asked to use hand sanitizers immediately upon approaching the bus and throughout the whole blood donation process.  It is a requirement that the staff uses hand disinfectant between each donor and throughout the day.
  • Gloves are not a necessity while donating; in fact, gloves will be asked to be removed during the vitals collection part of the blood donation process.  Staff will be wearing gloves as they are in contact with the blood donation individual.

And while you are gettig ready, take a look in your closet and see if you have a gently used sweater, hoodie, or jacket to be distributed to members of our community in need by the #JustOneSweater initiative. There will be donation bins on site throughout the day!
