Annapolis Maritime Museum and Park to launch School in Nature progam to supplement virtual learning

The Annapolis Maritime Museum and Park  will offer the fulltime School in Nature at its Park Campus located at Ellen O. Moyer Nature Park. The historic Waterworks building has three permanent learning classrooms that will be adapted to facilitate students as they participate in virtual learning through a public or private school system.

This program is designed to serve as support for students as they work through their virtual learning curriculum. This online curriculum is supplemented with AMM-lead enrichment activities that focus on environmental stewardship and maritime education, including lots of nature play, art, and science.

Exposure to nature and outdoor play can improve academic performance and love of learning.

Children who are connected to nature have better health, higher satisfaction with life, and pro-environment behaviors.

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:30pm
  • K-5th grade students
  • Virtual learning support from the AMM staff
  • Enrichment activities focus on environmental stewardship and maritime education, including nature play, art, and science
