Free racial justice and harm reduction training available through the City of Annapolis

The City of Annapolis’ No Harm initiative, in collaboration with the Baltimore Harm Reduction Coalition, is presenting a three-part series on racial justice and harm reduction training.  The trainings are free, virtual, and offered to interested members of the community, but the workshops are aimed at people who work in the behavioral health fields, medical professionals, teaching professionals, emergency response teams and community members who want to learn more about how to support racial justice in the community. Preregistration for the workshops is required.

“It is imperative, as we see overdoses rising during the pandemic, to address the issues of substance use, prevention and recovery in our community,” said Mayor Gavin Buckley. “I am gravely concerned about the loss of life and these workshops are aimed at getting people involved and trained at the intersection of racial justice and harm reduction.”

Part One: War on Drugs is offered on three consecutive Thursdays: October 29, or November 5th, or November 12th, from 4 to 7 p.m. Part Two: The Local Landscape and Part Three: Taking Action in Anne Arundel County will follow, with three offered dates for each workshop to be determined.

Zoom links will be provided upon registration. To register, visit: https://bit.ly/312jn1Y
