After you “spring ahead” and set your clocks forward one hour, make sure you head on out to Downtown Annapolis for the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

One of the City’s largest parades will begin at 1 p.m. starting at West Street at Amos Garrett Boulevard, follow West Street to Church Circle, and then down Main Street to City Dock. The parade includes more than 100 entrants and is expected to draw up to 15,000 people to Annapolis.

“This parade is huge for the City of Annapolis,” said Mayor Gavin Buckley. “Whether you are a participant or watching from along the parade route, this event is a highlight of spring. It’s all good fun, with the Pipes and Drums, the marching bands, the Irish dancers. We love it!”

Streets along the parade route will close before 1 p.m. and are expected to remain closed until the parade is finished, at approximately 3 p.m.

The eighth annual St. Patrick’s parade is sponsored by Naptown Events, which will sponsor shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium to the staging area (near Maryland Hall) for parade participants and to the downtown area for parade watchers. For more information on the parade, visit www.naptownevents.com.

The parade benefits local charities. The 2020 beneficiaries will include Warrior Events and the Annapolis Police Foundation.

John O’Leary, Naptown Events and Parade founder said, “we’re extremely excited to further our partnership with the City, local businesses and the guests of this incredible city, in this growing positive event.”

And don’t forget Shamrock the Dock at City Dock. We’re Not Handsome and Dublin 5 will be performing from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday. So, after the parade, spend time downtown to enjoy shops and eat at local restaurants and have fun on City Dock with a pop-up festival.
