AAMC’s Denim & Diamonds Bash canceled for 2020

Denim & Diamonds, the annual fundraiser for the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation has been canceled. Foundation President, Jan Wood sent a letter out this morning to sponsors of the event.  The event was scheduled for April 25, 2020.

For more than 35 years, the role of the AAMC Foundation has been, and always will be, to provide vital funding for high-quality care for everyone in our region. As a healthcare foundation, we must always balance activities to advance our fundraising mission with being responsible stewards of the care and health of our community.

We recognize that Denim & Diamonds has become one of the most popular and anticipated events in the region, and we are proud of the community partnership we have created with this event. We are especially grateful for your support as a valued sponsor – we could not do it without you.

With that said, in light of the advance of COVID-19 in Maryland, and the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the State of Maryland health officials to limit large group activities whenever possible, we feel it is in the best interest of our Denim & Diamonds guests, volunteers, vendors, and staff to cancel the 2020 Denim & Diamonds Bash.

Please know that we are working on a communication that will come to you within next week regarding options for your sponsorship dollars, including a full refund if you so desire. Above all, we want to be respectful of your thoughtful commitment to AAMC.

We do want you to know that we have been planning many exciting new changes and enhancements for the 2020 Denim & Diamonds Bash, and we promise we will keep them in place and ready to go for the 2021 Denim & Diamonds. Again, we will be sharing additional “what’s next” information with regard to the 2020 Denim & Diamonds Bash in the next week or so. In the meantime, we thank you for your steadfast support of mental health and addiction care in our region, and we appreciate your understanding as we work together to care for our community.

With gratitude,

Jan W. Wood
