Annapolis Police arrest man in connection with recent shooting in HACA’s Harbour House community

The Annapolis Police Department has arrested an Annapolis man in connection with a shooting that happened in HACA’s Harbour House community on February 11, 2020.

The following was release from the police department this morning.

UPDATE – After the shooting detectives located a handgun outside in the 1100 block of Madison St. The handgun was reported stolen to Anne Arundel County Police Department in 2019. Through investigation detectives determined that John King, 29, of Annapolis was in possession of the handgun before detectives found it. King is prohibited from possessing a handgun due to prior felony conviction. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for King charging him with five criminal charges related to possessing the handgun. On 02/13 King was located and arrested. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond. Police say that King was seen placing something in the area where the gun was ultimately recovered.

According to online court records, King has been charged with handgun violations, but has not yet been charged with any other more serious charges like attempted murder, assault, etc.
