New traffic signal goes into operation today on Route 3 in Crofton

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is activating a new traffic signal along the MD 3 (Crain Highway) corridor in Anne Arundel County.

The new traffic signal is located at the intersection of northbound MD 3 and Carver Road. It will then be activated to full color mode on Thursday, Jan. 30, weather permitting.  More than 79,000 vehicles travel on this section of MD 3 each day.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert and adhere to posted speed limits. Customers who have questions or need additional information may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for motorists, as well as our crews. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
