Fire damages Annapolis home near Admiral Heights community

EDITED: To correct title and first sentence to reflect  that it is near Admiral Heights, but not considered a part of the community. Also, information from Annapolis Fire Department.


From the Annapolis Fire Department:

Annapolis Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Gross Avenue for a reported structure fire. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a single-family home with heavy smoke and fire.

All occupants in the home safely evacuated prior to arrival of the fire department.

Fire crews made a quick attack bringing it under control within 30 minutes. There was extensive damage to the home with some fire damage to a neighboring home.

Three adults have been displaced and are being assisted by Red Cross. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.

The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation and the financial loss currently is unknown.

The Annapolis Fire Department was assisted by Anne Arundel County, the US Naval Academy, and the Prince George’s County Fire Departments.


The Annapolis Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Gross Avenue near the City’s Admiral Heights community just before noon on November 22, 2019.

On arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and fire on the one sire of the house. There is no word of any injuries or a damage estimate. This post will be updated.
