Baysox blanked in Binghamton 6-0

The Baysox could never get out of neutral Friday night in Binghamton as they were shutout by the Rumble Ponies 6-0 at NYSEG Stadium.
Baysox starter Alex Wells earned a rare blemish on his outstanding record as he allowed three runs in the third inning after retiring the first six batters of the game. All-in-all, Wells allowed five runs in 5 and 2/3rd innings in just his second loss of the year.
But the loss did not hang directly on Wells. Bowie’s Cedric Mullins singled and stole second with one down in the first inning but was left stranded. He would be the only Baysox player to reach scoring position until the ninth inning. The Baysox registered just six hits on the night.
It was the 25th Baysox game to end in a shutout. It was the 13th time the Baysox had been shutout this season. It is a first time Bowie has lost consecutive games since June 23rd and June 24th.
The series continues Saturday, July 27th with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch in Binghamton from NYSEG Stadium. RHP Mike Baumann will get the start. Coverage begins 20 minutes prior on 1430-WNAV and 99.9 FM in the city of Annapolis.

Bowie is making a push towards the Eastern League Playoffs. Come support the Baysox as they host Reading for a three-game series beginning Monday, July 29th at 7:05 p.m. Get tickets at 301-464-4865 or purchase online at baysox.com.
