Police identify suspect in Glen Burnie murder/standoff

On April 15, 2019 at approximately 7:10 a.m. officers received a call for shots fired in the 170 block of Virginia Lane in Glen Burnie. Once on scene, officers found a deceased male later identified as Tyrique Hudson (22 year old, 100 block of Virginia Lane Glen Burnie) suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot(s). Mr. Hudson was inside the apartment building but in a publicly accessed area. Witnesses told officers they observed the suspect standing over the victims body and that the two have had an on-going issue. Witness did not know what the on-going issue was about but went on to say the suspect may have barricaded himself in the building.

At approximately 5:00 p.m. members from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Quick Response Team were able to take the suspect into custody without any additional casualties. The scene was turned over to detectives and as of this writing is still being processed.

Charges:

  • 1st Degree Murder
  • 2nd Degree Murder
  • Firearm use in a Felony
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • 1st Degree Assault
  • 2nd Degree Assault

The Capital is reporting that Verombeck has had several protective orders taken out against him; one as recently as February by the victim. That order was denied.
