At approximately 7am this morning (March 2, 2019)  a 911 call was received reporting a fire in the woods near outbound Rowe Blvd after the College Creek Bridge.

On arrival Annapolis and U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) Fire Department units encountered a makeshift structure fully involved with fire.  Annapolis Fire Department units, along with mutual aid units from the USNA Fire Department rapidly extinguished the fire.  It took approximately 15 minutes to place the fire under control.

An individual living in the makeshift structure received 2nd and 3rd degree burns.  He was treated and transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center, where he is currently reported to be in stable condition.  No fire department injuries are reported.
