The scholarship program is funded entirely through donations. Traditionally, two $1000 scholarships are awarded to high school seniors that reside in the City of Annapolis. This year a total of 7 scholarships will be awarded through the Annapolis Police Scholarship Fund. The $5000 funding the additional scholarships was graciously donated anonymously, to be awarded in honor of the victims of The Capital Gazette shooting: Gerald Fischman, Rob Hiaasen, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith, and Wendi Winters. It is a wonderful tribute to these Annapolis heroes.
Lt Kevin Krauss stated, “We hope to grow the Scholarship Fund so that each recipient will receive $1000 for all 4 years of college.” Krauss works very closely with Annapolis youth through numerous community programs. He is spearheading the scholarship fund and the fundraiser.

In recognition of the Annapolis Police Department’s 150th Anniversary in 2017, the Department proudly launched APD’s Scholarship Program. The APD has awarded 5 scholarships to Annapolis youth. The Scholarship Program was established with the goal of assisting current graduating seniors residing in the City of Annapolis. We work with local schools and community organizations to identify students in need of financial aid to attend college. With your help, we can continue to honor high school graduates through the Scholarship Program. Your support and donations will enable the fund to grow and to continue to provide opportunities to Annapolis youth. The Annapolis Police Scholarship Fund is a 501C3.
