Glen Burnie man killed in Route 100 crash

On February 16, 2019 at approximately 11:43am, officers responded to MD 100 East at Quarterfield Road for a two-vehicle crash.

A Toyota was traveling eastbound on MD 100. The driver lost control and struck a guardrail on the right shoulder.  The Toyota crossed back into the traffic lanes where it flipped onto a Honda that was also traveling eastbound on MD 100.  The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy.

The driver and minor child in the Honda were transported to an area hospital where only the driver suffered minor injuries, the minor child was uninjured.

The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be the Toyota driver failing to remain in a single lane.  Speed does appear to have contributed to this crash.

The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.
