Black Bears continue to struggle against Jamestown Rebels

| January 25, 2019, 11:14 PM

The Maryland Black Bears lost to the Jamestown Rebels Friday night, 4-1. The loss marks the fifth straight for the Black Bears when playing the Rebels. Goalie Anthony Del Tufo, the Team Maryland call up, put up a respectable performance. Del Tufo had 31 saves with a .912 SV%.

The Rebels commanded the first two periods by outshooting the Black Bears 27 to 10. This resulted in the Rebels taking a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period. The Black Bears found some life in the third period. Luc Salem scored the only Black Bears goal by converting on a power play. Hunter Johannes of the Rebels answered Salem’s goal and then Jake Felker scored an open net goal to finish the game.

The Black Bears play again tomorrow in hopes of splitting the weekend series against the Jamestown Rebels at 7:05 PM in the Northwest Arena.
