| June 23, 2018, 11:46 PM

BaysoxRyan Mountcastle headlined a Baysox attack with a 6-for-7 doubleheader at the plate as the Baysox split two games in Richmond on Saturday evening. Mountcastle had hits in his first six at-bats and has 12 hits in his last 16 at-bats overall.

Bowie grabbed the opener behind a consistant offensive attack and a great start by spot starter Luis Ysla. The Baysox has seven, two-out hits in the first two innings to grab a 4-1 lead. In the fourth inning, Aderlin Rodriguez launched his seventh home run of the year and the Baysox were off to the races. The Baysox led 9-1 before a three-run Luigi Rodriguez home run in the seventh inning provided the finally tally of 9-4.

Ysla struck out eight batters in five strong innings for his third win of the year. Mountcastle provided four hits with Anderson Feliz registering three. Ryan McKenna notched his first two Double-A hits and D’Arby Myers extended his hit streak to 11 games.

In Game Two the Baysox grabbed an early lead when Anthony Santander homered to right-center field in the first inning. But the Baysox could not advance upon the lead. They left the bases loaded in the second inning and straned two men aboard in the third.

Richmond would get a runner in scoring position in all six of their at-bats in the game and they finally broke through. Jonah Arenado singled home a run to tie the game in the fourth. And in the sixth inning the Flying Squirrels broke through. They loaded the bases with one down and got consecutive walks followed by a Miguel Gomez 2-RBI single and Richmond led 5-1.
