Kate Rollason awarded executive citation for work with disabled

The Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues (CODI) held Disability Awareness Day 2017 on October 21st, at Westfield Annapolis Mall.  Businesses and individuals were awarded Executive Citations for their lifelong commitment to making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.  Ms. Kate Rollason, former Executive Director of The Arc, and long-standing member of CODI, was awarded as this year’s Honoree.

Disability Awareness Day is held every October to recognize local business in persons within the community that hire individuals with disabilities. These individuals are given an opportunity to earn an income to live with independence and dignity, and able to contribute to the community.  Businesses that create an accessible, physical environment for the community free from any physical barriers, and individuals that advocate for persons with disabilities are also recognized. This year’s awards included: Accessibility, Business Leadership, Community Organization, Employer of the Year, and Public Service Awards.
