Buckley for the win in Annapolis with 61.72% of the vote

The following are the results. They have not been certified, nor have any write-in votes or absentee ballots been counted. These reflect only those votes cast this afternoon.

  • Mike Pantelides 3,354 (38.06%)
  • Gavin Buckley 5,439 (61.72%)

WARD 1

  • Larry Claussen 594 (35.11%)
  • Elly Tierney 1,028 (60.76)

WARD 2

  • Fred Paone 780 (50.58%)
  • Kut Riegel 762 (49.42%)

WARD 3

  • Rhonda Pindell Charles 648 (96.57%)

WARD 4

  • Sheila Finlayson 380 (71.97%)
  • Write-In 148 (28.03%)

WARD 5

  • James Appel 389 (38.94%)
  • Marc Rodriguez 610 (61.06%)

WARD 6

  • Shaneka Henson 426 (95.30%)

WARD 7

  • David Frankel 339 (36.26%)
  • Rob Savidge 592 (63.32%)

WARD 8

  • Julie Mussog 792 (48.29%)
  • Ross Arnett 846 (51.59%)Challenger Gavin Buckley soundly defeated incumbent Mayor Michael Pantelides for Mayor of Maryland’s capital city and led his fellow Democrats to a near sweep of the City Council.  Mayor Pantelides called Buckley just 45 minutes after the polls closed to concede.

While numbers are not official just yet, it appears that Buckley carried all precincts across the City except for Ward 5’s 15th Precinct which is the Hunt Meadow neighborhood where Mayor Pantelides resides.

In the Aldermanic races, unofficial numbers show:

  • Ward 1 – Elly Tierney-D
  • Ward 2 – Fred Paone-R (incumbent)
  • Ward 3 – Rhonda Pindell-Charles-D (incumbent, unopposed)
  • Ward 4 – Sheila Finlayson-D (incumbent, unopposed, waiting on results from write-in candidate)
  • Ward 5 – Marc Rodriguez-D
  • Ward 6 – Shaneka Henson-D
  • Ward 7 – Rob Savidge-D
  • Ward 8 – Ross Arnett-D (incumbent, however there are 150 absentee ballots that may swing to Julie Mussog-R)
