Maryland art lovers gathering to add to their collections

The can’t-miss art event in Annapolis, Collector’s Choice, is celebrating its 41st year in Maryland’s capital city. Presented by Maryland Federation of Art (MFA), Maryland’s oldest artist-run organization, Collector’s Choice is hosted by Volvo Cars Annapolis and features original artwork by 130 different MFA Member artists. The featured artists created incredible works in a variety of mediums, all highlighting their own specialties; works include award-winning photographs, unique sculpture, master woodturning and more. Each Collector’s Choice ticketholder will go home with one of these incredible pieces on Sunday, October 22, 2017. The main event, at 333 Buschs Frontage Road in Annapolis, runs from 6-9pm, with an exclusive preview event at 5pm. Tickets are $185 for general admission and $250 for the preview party – with each ticket admitting two people for food, drinks, and (of course) a fantastic piece of artwork to take home! This year’s theme is a night in black and white; attendees are encouraged to dress in their best black and brightest white to highlight all of the colorful and dynamic artwork around them. Tickets and more information can be found at www.mdfedart.com/collectors-choice.

At this one-of-a-kind art lottery event, each ticket is assigned a number and the artwork is chosen by the ticketholders in order of when their number is selected. The first number will be called at 6:30pm by our master of ceremonies, Alex Cortright of WTMD and will continue until each masterpiece has gone home with a collector. The evening will also feature live music, drinks, a variety of food from local restaurants and caterers, plus premium raffles including high-end wine, vacation packages from Historic Inns of Annapolis, and incredible jewelry from Cezanne Jewelers. All proceeds from the event go to support the Maryland Federation of Art, the longest serving artist-based nonprofit in Maryland.
