APD’s Howlin’ Hustle this weekend

Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides reminds residents that some area streets will be closed on Saturday, October 28th for the Annapolis Police Department’s Howlin’ Hustle 5K Walk/Run to benefit Special Olympics Maryland.

Several roads will be closed on a rolling basis starting Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 9:00 a.m.  The race begins and ends on Herbert Sachs Drive at Calvary United Methodist Church, located at 301 Rowe Boulevard.

The 5K course will include closures on College Avenue, Church Circle, Main Street, Randall Street, Dock Street, King George Street, and Route 450 at the following times:

  • Start to Church Circle from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m.
  • Main Street to Randall Street (Gate 1) from 7:35 to  8:15 a.m.
  • King George Street from 7:40 to 9:00 a.m.
  • West Annapolis at Baltimore & Annapolis Blvd and Taylor Ave. from 7:15 to 9:00 a.m.
  • Taylor Ave. at Rowe Blvd. from 7:30-7:40 a.m.and from 7:45-9:00 a.m.

The race is to generate funds and raise awareness for Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD), which currently provides year-round sports training and competition to more than 7,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities across the state, at no charge to them, their families, or their coaches.
