Anne Arundel County Police investigating gang slaying of three people

In a press conference this afternoon, Anne Arundel County Police Chief Tim Altomare has revealed that police have recently been investigating the deaths of three bodies found in the County and has confirmed that they are gang related murders. He did state that there have been several arrests, yet declined to disclose if more were anticipated or where the crime happened. He emphasized that there is gang activity in every community in Anne Arundel County.

Very little information was released as the Chief feared that release of the information could put the community in general in danger. He encouraged people to call the newly established gang tip line at 410-222-4700 if they suspect there is gang related activity in their neighborhoods and a detective woudl respond to their concerns.

The Chief emphasized that they department knows that there is gang activity in every community from the Baltimore City line down to the Calvert County line. However, he very clearly stated that the police would do what they could to prevent gangs from taking over Anne Arundel County.

Frustrated members of the media pressed the Chief for answers; but Altomare responded that he feared that releasing any additional information would be putting others in direct danger.
