Anne Arundel County and Community Foundation partner for charitable giving

County Executive Steve Schuh has announced that Anne Arundel County has entered into the strategic partnership with the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) to streamline charitable giving to support County departments, programs and projects.

“Our administration is working every day to ensure county government is more efficient and effective,” said Schuh. “This agreement with the Community Foundation establishes the Anne Arundel County Fund.  The public can now support County departments and agencies with confidence, accountability and relative ease.”

CFAAC is a local 501(c)3 organization and the largest institutional nonprofit funder in the County. The agreement establishes the Anne Arundel County Fund within CFAAC. Donors can now make a direct contribution online to the Anne Arundel County Fund to benefit the Anne Arundel County Animal Control as well as the Department of Aging and Disabilities, Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Health, Partnership for Children, Youth &Families, Department of Recreation & Parks, and Department of Social Services. Other local Maryland jurisdictions have formed similar partnerships with Community Foundations to inspire public philanthropy and impact defined local needs.

“County agencies and departments, often in partnership with nonprofit organizations, play a significant role in delivering critical services that increase the quality of life for all residents,” said Melissa Curtin, Executive Director of CFAAC.  “People ask how they can help support County efforts and now we have a place to direct them.”

CFAAC will collect and track all donations to the Anne Arundel County Fund. The organization will then disperse those donations as grants to County Departments. The County will accept the grants and ensure the funds are dispersed as directed by the donor.

The online portal to donate can be found at https://cfaac.fcsuite.com/erp/donate.  Checks may be mailed to CFAAC, 914 Bay Ridge Road, Suite 220, Annapolis, Maryland 21403. Donors are asked to list the relevant agency or department in the memo line or attached note.
