Renewable Energy Park Job Fair on Monday in Annapolis

Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides is working to bring jobs to Annapolis for Annapolis residents and announced the next local Job and Small Business Fair will be on Monday, September 25th.

The event will be held at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center, located at 273 Hilltop Lane in Annapolis, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This is an opportunity to find workers and contractors to build the Annapolis Renewable Energy Park and Mayor Pantelides urges individuals looking for work as skilled and unskilled laborers, electricians, general contractors, and construction site workers to attend the event.   Additionally small, minority, women, and veteran business owners are encouraged to attend to learn more about contracting opportunities, including fencing, temporary bathroom facilities, project employee accommodations, water delivery, shuttle services, site traffic control services, and lunch truck services.

“This Job and Small Business Fair offers opportunities for local businesses and residents,” Mayor Pantelides said. “I encourage everyone interested in working on this project to come to the event and learn more about the numerous jobs available.”

groSolar, a Maryland solar development, engineering, and construction firm is sponsoring the event and will design and build the seven separate solar projects at the Annapolis Renewable Energy Park. Once complete, the solar park will be the largest project built on a capped landfill in the country. Once operational, the solar park will generate more than 20,000,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year; equivalent to a year of electricity use of more than 2,000 homes or the annual equivalent to removing more than 14,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from the environment.
