| September 20, 2017, 01:31 PM

Thanks to the generosity of Katcef Brothers, Inc, the Folds of Honor Foundation is able to fund one $5,000 educational scholarships for local Maryland military families.

The Folds of Honor Foundation, based in Owasso, Okla., is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower military families by providing educational scholarships and other assistance for the children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.

“This donation is our way of saying thank you to our veterans and their families and honoring their sacrifices made for our freedom,” said Neal Katcef, President and Owner, Katcef Brothers, INC. “We hope to continue supporting the Folds of Honor Foundation, our service members and their families in 2017/2018 and beyond.”

Katcef Brothers is one of the three Katcef Family Companies that market beers from around the world in Anne Arundel, Howard and Montgomery Counties and Washington, DC. For over 80 years Katcef Brothers has supported the Anheuser Busch ‘Better World’ Mission to promote corporate social responsibility, preserve the environment and make a difference in the communities where we live and work.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support of Katcef Brothers,” said Major Dan Rooney, founder of Folds of Honor. “Providing these scholarships means giving our military families the opportunities they deserve to grow and thrive. Our goal is to honor our military’s sacrifices by educating their legacy, and this generous donation by Katcef Brothers has given us the means to change lives in Maryland.”

Since its inception in 2007, Owasso-based Folds of Honor has awarded more than 16,000 educational scholarships to meet an ongoing need in our country. As of January 2012, more than one million dependents have been affected by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Of these, 87 percent do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance.
