Bob Dylan to play DC’s newest venue–The Anthem

AnthemBob Dylan just became the latest major artist to choose The Anthem while in D.C. He joins artists that usually play arenas, but are looking for a more intimate feel; acts like Opening Night’s Foo Fighters, The Killers, LCD Soundsystem and Lorde.  Bob Dylan & His Band with Mavis Staples will play The Anthem November 14. The venue officially opens its doors next month at The Wharf on D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront.

“Honestly, it was always my dream to do Bob Dylan here – at The Anthem,” said Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and co-owner of the 9:30 Club and The Anthem. Hurwitz has worked with the artist for decades; Bob Dylan played the 9:30 Club three times, was a featured performer at the I.M.P.-produced Virgin Festival and has played with I.M.P. in several other venues in the area through the years.

Tickets went on sale Friday, Sept. 15 at 10am through ticketfly.com and at the 9:30 Club, Merriweather Post Pavilion and Lincoln Theatre during normal box office hours. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Bob Dylan & His Band with Mavis Staples in this incredible new venue as tickets will go fast.
