Thompson Creek makes donation to Annapolis Maritime Museum

On June 1, 2017, Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM) announced the significant donation and installation of new windows from Thompson Creek Window Company to outfit the Museum’s Education Center at the AMM’s second campus located at Back Creek Nature Park.  The donation and installation of new windows begins the refurbishment of the historic water works building.  The expansion of AMM’s second campus will meet the demand for the Museum’s award-winning education programs that serve over 7,500 local students annually.   The Museum hosted a member event, called Fiesta in the Park, in celebration of the fact that the building would be used for the Museum’s popular summer camps.

“Thompson Creek Window Company is proud to partner with the Annapolis Maritime Museum on this education center improvement initiative,” stated Rick Wuest, President and CEO of Thompson Creek.  “As a family-owned company founded in Annapolis, we understand the importance of saving energy and improving the environment.  This donation is one way we can contribute to the Museum’s programs and reinforce the importance of educating the next generation of environmental stewards.”

Alice Estrada, the Executive Director of AMM, stressed the importance of this partnership and donation.  “We are in the beginning stages of revitalizing the Back Creek Nature Park property, and Thompson Creek Window Company’s donation of new windows for the Education Center at the Water Works Building is a significant step forward.  We thank Thompson Creek for supporting the local community and environmental education in such a significant and generous way.”

Thompson Creek Window Company is a privately owned and family-operated manufacturer and installer of energy-efficient home improvement replacement products. Founded in 1980 in Annapolis, Thompson Creek Window Company began as a manufacturer of maintenance-free, energy-efficient vinyl windows. Since that time, Thompson Creek Window Company has evolved into one of the leading specialty home improvement contracting companies in the nation, and is headquartered in Lanham, Maryland.

The Annapolis Maritime Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating students and adults on the area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through programs, exhibits and community events.
