Annapolis Police investigating 3rd homicide of 2017

UPDATE:

The victim of the homicide has been identified as Juan Carlos Machado Rivas, 28, of Annapolis. Mr. Rivas was standing outside when he was approached by several subjects. Mr. Rivas was shot and killed.


Last night, August 13, 2017, at 11:14 p.m. officers responded to the 1200 block of Graff Court for a report of a shooting.  Officers located an adult male shooting victim who died from his injuries.  There is no further information at this time.

2016 was the deadliest year for Annapolis in terms of homicides and 2017 started with 2 more in January of 2017. Annapolis Mayor Mike Pantelides fired then-Chief Michael Pristoop citing a new direction for the department and appointed Major Scott Baker to lead the department.
